Roman Skopalík hair studio
We had financial limits for the reconstruction and a big part took us construction work, so we had to reduce the visual form… but as it uses to be in our case, we often fight with numbers and materials and we also try to find available, clever and nice solution.
Colors for the space were given before: black and white, but we wanted to bring this combination alive. We gave gold color to the interior. It excels at the reception and also on accessories. We liked the client´s vision that he wants to work in the studio alone, so we were not afraid to use his face. We let to shoot his own face which welcomes each client at the reception.
To the glamour style belong certain rules and patterns. Choice of wallpapers, curtains and lights was given in advance. We wanted to connect this style with modern times, so we used varnished tables, glass, laminate movable boards, furniture and we combined all in one.
We laid large format white tiles on the floor and somewhere are black tiles intentionally and irregularly. We painted the ceiling with black enamel paint. We wanted to reach the feeling of lightness and airiness, so we combined white walls with black wallpapers and we also helped with white furniture.
Used colors: black, white, gold
Used materials: laminate, varnished furniture, textile, mirror, enamel, ceramics tiles on the floor
